PFPMaker vs BetterPic
BetterPic sells a premium headshot with add-ons priced separately. Worth knowing what the sticker price does and does not include before you compare it to anything.
The number on a pricing page is rarely the number you pay. With BetterPic, a manual edit to a photo costs $8 and a redo costs $10, on top of the plan. Their entry plan is $35 and gives you twenty photos in a single style, so if you want a second look you are on a higher plan or paying per change.
None of that is hidden and none of it is unreasonable for a premium product. It just means the honest comparison is not $35 against our price, it is $35 plus whatever you end up adjusting. That is the thing worth working out before you buy, and it is why we list what each plan actually includes rather than only the headline.
BetterPic figures come from their own pricing page. Their per-edit and per-redo charges are published by them too.

Same arithmetic on both sides: the cheapest published price divided by the number of photos it delivers. That makes BetterPic about 6 times the cost per photo.
The short answer
BetterPic is a genuinely premium product with premium add-on pricing. We cost a fraction of it, include more styles at every level, and never charge for a change.
BetterPic's Basic plan is $35 and returns twenty photos in one style. Their Pro plan is $39 for sixty photos across three styles, and Expert is $79 for a hundred and twenty across six. That is a reasonable ladder for someone who wants a polished corporate result and is happy to pay for it.
Two things are worth knowing before you compare. First, style count is how they tier: the cheapest plan gives you exactly one look. Ours gives you the run of more than fifty styles at every level, including full body and creative shots, not only headshots. Second, changes cost extra. A manual edit is $8 and a redo is $10.
We do not charge for edits or redos because we do not offer per-photo retouching at all. Instead every plan returns a batch and you pick from it, and if the whole batch misses, the guarantee covers you.
BetterPic: The premium end of AI headshots, built around high resolution output and optional human retouching.
Pick PFPMaker when
- You want more than one style without moving up a plan
- You do not want to think about per-edit or per-redo charges
- You want creative and full body shots, not only a corporate headshot
- You want to spend a few dollars rather than thirty-five to a hundred
Looking for a BetterPic alternative?
The usual reason people look for a BetterPic alternative is the total. The plan is one number, then an edit is $8, then a redo is $10, and the cheapest plan only gives you one style so a second look means the next tier up. It adds up in a way that is hard to predict before you start.
The other reason is scope. BetterPic makes a polished corporate headshot. If what you actually wanted was a good photo of yourself that does not look like a corporate headshot, it is the wrong shape of product regardless of price.
Every style, every plan
BetterPic tiers by style count: one style on Basic, three on Pro, six on Expert. We do not gate styles by plan. More than fifty are available at every level, and the plan only changes how many photos come back and how fast.
No per-change pricing
An $8 edit and a $10 redo are small individually and awkward in aggregate, because you cannot know in advance how many you will want. We do not charge for changes. You get a batch, you pick from it, and if none of it works the guarantee covers the order.
Ready in minutes, not hours
BetterPic quotes roughly one to two hours depending on plan. Our Pro plan delivers in about ten minutes. If you are sorting a photo out because you need it today, that difference is the whole decision.
One photo to start
BetterPic asks for exactly eight photos, which is a specific and slightly awkward number to go and assemble. We start from one. Two to ten from different angles gives more variety, but you do not have to go and take a set before you begin.
Is there a free BetterPic alternative?
There are free AI headshot tools and they are a reasonable first stop. Canva, Adobe and several others will generate something without charging you.
The trade is quality and privacy. Free generations tend to look free: smoothed skin, slightly generic features, backgrounds that do not survive a second look. And a fair few free tools keep your uploads indefinitely, because the photos are the business model.
We charge, and the honest framing is that we are much closer to free than to $35. If a free tool has already let you down, the step up from there is a few dollars.
Already bought a BetterPic plan? Nothing carries over either way, so the fair test is to upload one photo here, pick a style, and put the two sets next to each other.

What people say about their photos
Updated all our executive photos in one afternoon. The consistency across the team looked better than our last in-person studio shoot. Saved us a full day of scheduling and logistics.
Carlos Mendoza
CEO
Been looking for something like this for months. The executive headshot came out genuinely good. No uncanny valley, no weird hands, nothing off. And it doesn't make you jump through three sign-up screens before you can try it. That alone puts it ahead of half the competition.
David Osei
Tried the linkedin headshot option last month. Profile views went up that same week. I was honestly skeptical but the result looked like I paid a photographer. My recruiter asked where I got it done.
